Tiger Woods held his first press conference since the February car accident in which he was hospitalized, and he opened up about the difficulties he had in recovering.

The 45-year-old golf legend, who is in the Bahamas this week to host the Hero World Challenge tournament, questioned reporters on Tuesday.

“I built a really cool house, but I didn’t know how big it was until you started putting on crutches,” Woods joked during the convention. “At times I had to take breaks, but let me tell you, there comes a time when my triceps got really jacked, so it was a lot of fun.”

Woods suffered significant orthopedic injuries to his right leg, including fractures to his tibia and fibula bones in a February 23 car accident that occurred at the border of Rolling Hills Estates and Rancho Palos Verdes in Southern California. During the accident, Woods’ car crashed into a sign in the center divider and crashed into a tree on the side of the road.

Due to his injuries, the five-time Masters champion admitted that he would not be able to perform at the level required to compete on the PGA Tour for some time to come.

Tiger Woods has admitted that he will probably never return to professional golf full-time and fears he will be amputated after a car accident earlier this year.

The 15-time major champion suffered a serious leg injury in a February accident in California. In an interview with Golf Digest on Monday, he said any return to the sport would be limited.

“I think something that is realistic is playing the [PGA] Tour one day – never full-time, sometime again – but pick and choose just like Mr. [Ben] Hogan. Pick and choose a few events a year and you Play around that,” he said.

Woods sustained open fractures to the tibia and fibula in his right leg in the accident, saying the amputation was a very real possibility.
