Press conference today
We knew this day would come someday. Tiger could not return to the PGA Tour without facing the public first.
Friday morning at 11 a.m. EST Tiger Woods will sit in front of a microphone in front of select media outlets, and tell the world what we’ve known for a long time. Not to mention that he would do so on his own terms, not answering a single question.
A statement released on their official website reads:
Tiger Woods will speak to a small group of friends, co-workers and close associates on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the TPC Sovereign Clubhouse in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. Tiger plans to discuss his past and his future, and he plans to apologize for his behavior.
While Tiger feels that what happened is basically a matter between him and his wife, he also believes that he has hurt a lot of other people who were close to him. He also disappointed his fans. He wants to start the process of making amendments, and that’s what he’s going to discuss.
His remarks will be open to a press pool for live coverage. This is not a news conference.
But does Tiger really need to make a statement? The answer to that question is simple. It’s a loud one, yes. But that yes comes with an asterisk.
If Tiger is just out to save his marriage, then a public apology won’t be needed or necessary for him.
But if his marriage is over, Tiger has only one thing left to save his career on the PGA Tour. Now for this the tour and the players who are there today will have to apologize.
While I was listening to the radio, a local sports station here in Dallas/ft. Worth the area, I heard one of their on-air guys getting blasted by the audience for “getting Tiger off the hook.”
Trump golf course
Damak’s Trump World Golf Club Dubai is all set to offer a golfing experience unique to the Middle East. The championship course’s styling is reminiscent of Australian sandbelts and reflects designer Tiger Woods’ penchant for links golf. The course will provide a prime test of golf, yet remain entertaining for all levels of the game, emphasizing positioning and angles for strategic green complexes and encouraging creative shot making around a tightly cut green.
The memorable layout creates a distinct desert oasis feel as vast, lush plains and pristine lakes contrast with the site’s natural features, including spectacular landscaped desert wadis and dramatic waves that mimic the surrounding Arabian Desert.
In a city known to be a glamorous and innovative playground, Trump World Golf Club Dubai will stand out as a fun test of golf unlike any other found on the Arabian Peninsula. AKOYA Oxygen will have a world-class clubhouse and extensive practice facilities along with a championship course.
