Woods ultimately came from behind at a major championship to win the 2019 Masters.
At the 2002 Mercedes Championship at the Plantation Course at Kapalua Resort in Hawaii, Woods hit a 498-yard drive on the par-5 18th. That shot is the longest drive in PGA Tour history recorded by ShotLink, the PGA Tour’s data gathering information system.

Does support trump

Tiger Woods confessed he couldn’t sleep on his flight from Florida to the UK on Saturday after his failed assassination attempt on Donald Trump. The incident appears to have disrupted the 15-time major championship winner’s preparations for The Open at Royal Troon.

Trump, former US President and candidate for the 2024 elections, was targeted by a gunman during a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday. The suspected shooter reportedly fired several shots before being killed by a Secret Service sniper.

Woods revealed that he spent his entire flight watching coverage of the incident. Instead of getting some rest and freshening up for the practice round on Sunday, he found it impossible to concentrate with his busy mind.

In an interview with the BBC, Woods said: “I didn’t achieve much because I wasn’t in the right mental state. It was a long night (due to the attempted murder) and we just looked at it the whole time.” On the way here I didn’t sleep at all on the flight and then we got to the golf course.”
