Hair transplant
Famous professional golfer Tiger Woods is one of the most successful, recognizable athletes in the world. He is usually photographed on the golf course wearing a winning smile and his trademark baseball cap. But from time to time, an intrepid photographer will catch her tying her hat to the crowd, revealing a problem that affects about two in three men by age 35: male pattern baldness.
Woods’ hairline reflects one of the most common causes of hair loss- androgenetic alopecia. Men born with this hereditary condition have a sensitivity to a naturally occurring hormone called dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in the hair follicles. Symptoms of male pattern baldness include thinning at the temples and/or the crown, where follicles are least resistant to DHT. As male pattern baldness is progressive, over time, these two thinning areas meet in the middle, leaving only a horseshoe-shaped band of hair on the back and sides of the head.
Perhaps because his own father’s hair was falling out, Woods thought his situation was inevitable and inhospitable. In a 2014 interview with Fox Sports, Woods said that her hair loss is not a victory. But, he is only half right.
While Woods can’t do anything to change his genetics, he doesn’t have to admit defeat in the battle against hair loss.
Practice round
Tiger Woods is actually playing at the 2022 Masters, officially turning from pure intrigue to a set Thursday tee time. Yes, it is noteworthy. “At the moment I feel like I’m going to play,” Woods said yesterday. Woods will be playing nine more practice holes today, and assuming there are no setbacks, it is time to go tomorrow.
How we got here: Woods flew to Augusta and played the course last Tuesday, then showed up again on Sunday for another practice round. He was back on Monday, and knocked in another practice round with Justin Thomas and Fred duets. Optimism grew round after round – Fred Couples said he was “sure” that Woods would be in the field, and described Tiger’s game as being in great shape. On Tuesday, Woods confirmed that he plans to play.

The Tiger Comeback Timeline: Woods’ last public appearance was at the 2022 Genesis Invitational, where he said he didn’t know when he was going to play again. Woods is recovering from a car accident in February 2021, which caused open fractures in the upper and lower parts of his right leg and additional injuries to his foot and ankle. Woods, who turned 46 in December, last played in the father-son event of the PNC Championship in December 2021 with his son Charlie. His last official tournament appearance was the 2020 Masters.
