Press conference ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League match against Leicester City.

Fox will travel to west London tomorrow amid transfer uncertainty over centre-back Wesley Fofana. Chelsea have so far rejected three offers for the 21-year-old, who is currently training away from the Leicester first-team squad and will not be at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea are expected to return with a fourth bid for Fofana before the summer transfer window closes next week; Leicester have so far held firm to their £80million valuation of the French defender, but Fox boss Brendan Rodgers has admitted the situation must be resolved.

Fofana is not the only signing Chelsea are hoping to continue talks with Barcelona over a deal for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang with the Blues in the coming days. The Blues are hoping for a deal worth around £20m for the 33-year-old, who left Arsenal in January on a free transfer.

On Ronaldo

This summer has linked Cristiano Ronaldo with a move to Stamford Bridge, with the Portuguese legend rumored to be looking for a way out of Old Trafford after failing to qualify for the Champions League last season.

Football.London is understood to have been in talks between Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes and the new Chelsea boss, but Thomas Tuchel opted not to sign the five-time Ballon d’Or winner. The 37-year-old was United’s top scorer last season but struggled after coming to the club last summer, finishing sixth in the Premier League and not winning any trophy.

However, with the departure of Romelu Lukaku as well as the talks that have taken place with the star earlier, there could be some further development in the story. Chelsea will be able to provide the star with Champions League football, as well as a chance to win the competition for the sixth time with the Blues in 2021.

News

Thomas Tuchel has questioned how Antonio Conte escaped a touchline ban after two managers red cards in Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Tottenham.

Tuchel’s appeal against a one-match touchline ban – he was also fined £35,000 – was dismissed on Friday for reasons in writing to the appeals board, in an attempt to place a substantial portion of the blame with Conte”. He was criticized for “a worrying lack of insight”. Tuchel will not be in the dugout for Chelsea’s Premier League game at home to Leicester on Saturday.

Chelsea’s Thomas Tuchel to be ‘largely to blame’ for clash with Conte
Conte’s sentence was a £15,000 fine, leaving Tuchel to question the inequality. A Football Association independent regulatory commission found Tuchel’s full-time handshake with Conte was “highly provocative” and that Tuchel was “largely to blame” for the confrontation, but the Chelsea manager had other views.
