Chelsea announced Friday it agreed to a two-year contract extension through the 2023-24 season with manager Thomas Tuchel after he guided the club to its second UEFA Champions League triumph.
“I cannot imagine a better occasion for a contract renewal,” Tuchel said. “I am grateful for the experience and very happy to stay part of the Chelsea family. There is far more to come, and we are looking forward to our next steps with ambition and much anticipation.” Winning the UCL trophy capped a term when the Blues also reached the FA Cup final, which they lost 1-0 to Leicester City, and finished fourth in the Premier League table.
