The Open

The oldest event in golf will return to the Royal St George’s Club as the 2021 Open Championship begins on Thursday, 15 July. The 149th edition of the tournament will feature a star-studded arena, with over 150 of the world’s best golfers competing. Last major championship this year.

Many golfers have pulled out of the Open Championship due to COVID-19. Bubba Watson announced on Sunday that he would not compete after coming into direct contact with someone who tested positive. The win in Scotland nets Lee more than $1.7 million in prize money and marks the first golf major debut at next week’s British Open, which will be played at the site of Greg Norman’s win at Royal St George’s in 1993.

Open Qualifying Series is a global adventure that takes place in eight events in six countries across five continents with one goal: to qualify for The Open, the most prestigious golf championship in the world.

The four qualifying places have been recognized as one of the best for regional qualifying in the UK this year, presenting a suitable challenge as a gateway to play in the 149th Open Championship.

The regional and final qualification takes place in the UK and gives both professionals and amateurs (with a handicap of 0.0 or less) the opportunity to battle the field and claim a place at Royal St George’s.
