The 86th Masters starts today and the intrigue couldn’t be higher with the return of Tiger Woods – a five-time winner at Augusta National Golf Club who nearly saw his career end after a car crash – and full attendance for the first time since the start of COVID.

The Masters is appointment viewing regardless of the field, but the simple inclusion of Tiger Woods — who on Tuesday confirmed he would compete after missing last year’s event following a February car accident — makes this year’s competition that much more enticing.
Woods will tee off at 10:34 a.m. ET alongside Louis Oosthuizen and Joaquin Niemann. How he competes — he has only missed one weekend cut in his Masters history — will be a topic of great interest. But there’s more to this year’s Masters than Tiger, imposing as he may be on this year’s competition.
Tiger Woods:
After a long, often chaotic first part of the week, the 86th Masters gets underway today with as much anticipation as one can remember a major championship carrying.
Much of that obviously revolves around Tiger Woods teeing it up for the first time since his horrific car accident in February 2021, and he’s taken almost all of the oxygen out of August National for the last three days.
However, there are plenty of other storylines that will begin to unfold starting Thursday morning.
