England legend Terry Venables has left his wife Yvette after 32 years of marriage.

Tributes have poured in for Euro 96 boss Venables after he died aged 80 following a long illness.

His family said: “We are absolutely devastated by the loss of a wonderful husband and father, who passed away peacefully yesterday after a long illness.

“We would request that privacy be granted at this incredibly sad time so that we can mourn the loss of the lovely man we were so fortunate to have in our lives.”

Venables met his wife Yvette in 1984 at her father’s pub in Chingford, Essex.

When the couple married in 1991, she accompanied the football icon to Barcelona when he was appointed as manager.

Yvette supported Terry after he was sacked as chief executive of Tottenham Hotspur by club owner Alan Sugar in 1993.

Terry was reinstated after obtaining a temporary injunction – but lost a three-day High Court battle, with the judge ordering him to pay Sugar’s costs.

Yvette also managed Terry’s Kensington dining club, Scribes West, for seven years.

However, the couple decided to sell it in 1997.

Net Worth

Survived by his wife Yvette, their love story began in 1984. Before Yvette, he was married to Christine McCann.

Throughout his career, Terry Venables has earned a net worth of $10 million while making his mark as a player for various prestigious clubs. His distinguishing factor extended beyond playing abilities, to innovative coaching techniques.

Sadly, the details surrounding Terry Venables’ illness remain unknown, and his family have asked for privacy during this challenging period. The impact he made on the football field is reflected in the shaping of his financial legacy.

Terry Venables, affectionately known as “El Tell” during his career, boasted an illustrious history of playing with notable clubs such as Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Queens Park Rangers. His managerial skills shone through with notable successes at Crystal Palace, Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur. Additionally, he held the prestigious position of manager of the England national team from 1994 to 1996.

Daughters

Terry appears to have kept his personal life private and rarely mentions his children or family in public.

In his 2014 autobiography, he mentioned the stress that his illustrious football career had put on his family.
After being appointed Barcelona manager in 1984, he recalled that the move culminated in the end of his marriage to his first wife, but both parents “wanted to make sure that both of our daughters understood that they still had the power to love. Those are the parents”.

The family seems close, as Terry refers to family holidays in Majorca.

What happened to

Tributes have been paid to Terry Venables, the hugely charismatic and colorful manager who led England to the European Championship summit clash in 1996 following his death at the age of 80.

Few England managers have been more loved than El Tell, whose two-year tenure in charge of the national team ended with a painful Euro 96 defeat to Germany on penalties.

Terry Venables obituary
When his family announced that Venables had died peacefully in his sleep after a long illness, many players came forward to praise his supreme tactical and man-management skills. They were led by former England footballer Gary Neville, who called Venables “without doubt the most technically gifted British coach ever”.
