Injury update

The Bengals are going to be without one of their top receivers as they try to make a comeback in the second half against the Steelers.

Cincinnati announced that T Higgins would miss the rest of the competition after suffering an injury.

Higgins suffered an injury after taking a catch in the middle of the second quarter. The 23-year-old was hit hard and didn’t get it after the 9-yard was completed.
Eventually, Higgins was able to get off the ground under his own power. However, he was soon ruled out due to injury.

Higgins was reportedly attending the funeral of his father, who passed away two weeks ago. His absence had nothing to do with his injury. Clearly, Higgins is going through a lot right now and football is not at the top of his mind. But the fact that he returned to practice on Friday is a good sign that he will clear concussion protocol.

The Bengals travel to Dallas to take on Cowboys Sunday. This is a very important match for both the teams. Dallas lost its season opener 19–3 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He also lost his quarterback, Dak Prescott, to a hand injury. Reports vary but he is expected to be missing at least next month.

Status

Higgins scored just two goals for 27 yards in the team’s 23-20 overtime loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers last Sunday. Ja’Marr Chase was, of course, the top wideout for the Bengals, but in Higgins’ absence, tightrope Hayden Hurst and wide receiver Tyler Boyd played a big part in the offense. He combined for nine receptions for 79 yards and one touchdown in the loss.

Higgins will return as the No. 2 receiving option within the Cincinnati option, but his hypothetical viability is still a question mark. I would recommend keeping them on my bench for this week as they look to touch Hearst more today.
