Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater suffered a dislocated knee and torn ACL when he went down during a non-contact drill in practice on Tuesday, ending his 2016 season.

“Teddy suffered a complete tear to his ACL and other structural damage,” the team said in a statement Tuesday evening after Bridgewater’s MRI. “Luckily, there is no nerve or artery damage.”

Bridgewater dropped to go back during a drill, planted his foot and immediately went downstairs. Trainers ran towards him and began to wind up an aircast, and the quarterback appeared to be holding onto his left leg.

Knocked out

Teddy Bridgewater was kicked out of a Minnesota Vikings game after he was hit in the head by St. Louis Rams cornerback Lamarcus Joyner as he slipped at the end of his fourth-quarter run.

The Vikings quarterback was assessed for a setback after the play, at which Joyner was marked for unnecessary roughness. Most likely, Joyner would also be fined for the play, which was scary enough.

Bridgewater had completed 13 of 21 passes for 144 yards (with one interception) and ran for a touchdown, taking his knots on Sunday.
