Theodore Edmund Bridgewater  (born November 10, 1992) is an American football quarterback for the Denver Broncos of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at the University of Louisville and was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft. With the Vikings, Bridgewater threw for 14 touchdowns in his first two seasons, including winning the NFC North and making a Pro Bowl appearance in 2015. The following preseason, Bridgewater suffered a serious injury to his left leg, which ruled him out for all but one offensive series for the next two seasons.

Teddy Bridgewater was carried off the field on a stretcher in the second half of the Broncos’ loss to the Bengals on Sunday. The veteran quarterback was injured during the first dive down and landed on his shoulder and head. The Broncos soon announced that Bridgewater was in limbo and was taken to a local hospital for further evaluation for a head injury. Coach Vic Fangio said after the game that Bridgewater had undergone a thorough examination and would be hospitalized overnight as a precaution.

The New York Jets reached an agreement on Wednesday to trade quarterback Teddy Bridgewater to the New Orleans Saints, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Schaffter explained that in addition to Bridgewater, the Jets are sending the Saints a sixth-round pick in exchange for a third-round pick. Mike Garafolo noted that the Jets essentially turned $1 million into the third-rounder, while the Cleveland Browns paid $16 million for a second-round selection in 2017 in a Brock Osweiler deal.

Medical personnel took off Bridgewater’s face mask and he was tied to the car. The Broncos announced there was movement in all ends of Bridgewater and was taken via ambulance to a local hospital, which the team classified as a head injury. After the game, Broncos coach Vic Fangio said Bridgewater would be in the hospital overnight for further evaluation and that everything has been thoroughly checked so far.
