What happened to

Heinicke was allocated to the St. Louis BattleHawks before the 2020 XFL Draft on November 22, 2019. However, he did not see the field during the season and recorded no statistics and had his contract terminated when the league suspended operations in April 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Injury Update

Washington quarterback Taylor Heinicke had to exit last week’s loss to Dallas due to injury, but at this point, it’s looking like he’ll be OK to play the Eagles on Sunday.

Heinicke left the Week 14 contest due to a knee injury. But he also is dealing with an elbow issue. Speaking to the media on Wednesday, the quarterback said his knee isn’t as much of a problem as his elbow.

“There’s some bruising there, it’s tender, hurts a little bit,” Heinicke said, via Nicki Jhabvala of the Washington Post. “I went out and practiced today and the elbow didn’t hurt when I was throwing, so it’s all around good news.”

Taylor Heinicke’s Week 14 performance vs. the Dallas Cowboys was forgettable. Not only did Heinicke complete just 11 of 25 passes for 122 yards, but he also suffered multiple injuries to his knee and elbow. Heinicke left the game early in the fourth quarter and did not return.

With everything else going in Washington, such as 18 players currently on the reserve/COVID-19 list and multiple key players hurt, Heinicke’s situation is one to monitor ahead of Sunday’s game vs. the Philadelphia Eagles.
