Story

The story of Taylor Heinicke has been told so many times that fans of the Washington football team can probably read it from memory. However, some stories are great no matter how many times they are told, because there is always something new to appreciate about them. It was a full-circle moment for the young signal-caller, and Washington hopes it’s a prequel to what lies ahead.

“These are the games you dream of as a kid,” Heinicki said after the game. “It was the moment I was – I’m about to get emotional here – it’s a moment I dreamed of last year when I wasn’t playing. I told myself that if I get another chance to play, So I’ll get out there and do something nice.”

And aside from the occasional misfire, what great was Henki. He out-performed Tom Brady with 256 yards, compared to 220 from Brady, and he completed 81.3% of his passes, a career-high for a quarterback in games where he attempted more than one pass.
