Final Scores: Syracuse 32, Purdue 29
Syracuse leads 3-0 in dramatic fashion, beating Purdue in the Fourth Quarter Classic.

Garrett Schrader joined Oronde Gadsden for the game-winning 25-yard touchdown pass with 7 seconds remaining.

Everything Syracuse needed to get by Purdue: a blocked extra point, a defensive touchdown and its quarterback authoring another game-winning drive when it most counted.

It wasn’t all pretty, but Schrader completed 13-for-29 for 181 yards and three touchdowns. Two went to Gadsden, who finished with a career-high 112 yards on six catches.

Orange next Friday gives Virginia a 4-0 lead on the year.

During a spot on ESPN Radio Syracuse on Monday, head coach Dino Barbers announced that his staff going into the 2022 season is nearly complete, and that several assistant coaches will be switching roles.

The Babars said running back coach Mike Lynch would return for his seventh year as an assistant, and linebackers coach Chris Acuff would move to the defensive line to replace Vince Reynolds, who was not retained after the 2021 season. Babbers said that defensive coordinator Tony White would coach the linebackers unit.

An SU Athletics spokesman later confirmed to Sportszone’ Stephen Bailey that defensive backs coaches Nick Monroe and Chip West would return next time. According to Sportszone, Monroe has been listed as Syracuse’s best recruiter every year since its arrival in 2016.
