Sidney Michelle McLaughlin (born 7 August 1999) is an American hurdler and sprinter, the world record holder in the 400 m hurdles. He is the 2020 Tokyo Olympic gold medalist, and also the current world and Olympic record holder, with 50.68 and 51.46 respectively. McLaughlin was the first woman to break 52 seconds in the 400m hurdles when she set a world record of 51.90 seconds at the 2020 USA Olympic Trials. He won a silver medal at the 2019 World Championships. At both the 2019 World Championships and the Tokyo Games, she also won gold as part of the women’s 4x400m relay team. In 2022, she became world champion in Eugene 22 with a new world record time of 50.68 seconds.

The Team USA hurdler, 22, got engaged to boyfriend and former NFL wide receiver Andre Levrone Jr. at the Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale in Arizona, the couple announced Tuesday. His age is 27 years old. 

Levrone Jr., 26 – who spent two years playing for the Panthers, Jaguars and Ravens – got down on one knee in an outdoor setting surrounded by bouquets of flowers and candles.

At the age of 15, Sydney was the 2015 World Youth Champion. In 2016, McLaughlin was the youngest athlete to qualify for the United States Olympic track team since 1980, finishing third at the US Olympic Trials in just 54.15 seconds with the current world under-18s.
