Stephen Douglas Kerr (born September 27, 1965) is an American professional basketball coach and former player who is the head coach of the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is an eight-time NBA champion, having won five titles as a player (three with the Chicago Bulls and two with the San Antonio Spurs) as well as three with the Warriors as head coach. Kerr is the only NBA player to win four straight NBA titles since 1969. Kerr has the highest career three-point field goal percentage (45.4%) for any player with at least 250 three-pointers in NBA history. He also held the NBA record for the highest three-point percentage in a season at 52.4% until the record was broken by Kyle Korver in 2010.

Golden State Warriors coach Steve declined to talk about basketball before his team’s playoff loss to the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night, instead delivering a passionate speech condemning gun violence in the United States.
His team played Game 4 of the NBA Western Conference Finals in Texas, where at least 21 people, including 19 children, were killed in a school shooting earlier in the day. Kerr has long been an advocate of gun control. In 1984, his father was shot dead in a terrorist attack in Beirut.
“When are we going to do something,” Kerr shouted at his pre-game press conference. “I’m exhausted. I’m so tired of getting up here and expressing condolences to the devastated families out there. I’m so tired, sorry, I’m sorry, I’m tired of the moments of silence. Enough! “
Kerr has repeatedly supported a bill that would require stricter background checks on people who buy firearms. The bill passed in the US House of Representatives in 2021 but did not reach the Senate.

Kerr then moved to Buffalo, NY. Noted the tragedy, where 10 people were killed in a mass shooting at a local grocery store, which officials described as a racially motivated attack targeting black people, and a Laguna Woods, California church In the shootout, which had left one. Steve Kerr’s pregame press conference had nothing to do with basketball ahead of Game 4 of the Western Conference final between the Warriors and Mavericks on Tuesday. Instead, the Warriors head coach delivered a three-minute monologue in response to Tuesday’s shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, which killed at least 19 students and two adults.
