Steve Kerr: Postgame interview| Father death| Political views
Postgame interview:
In his post game interview, Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr refused to provide an update on Stephen Curry after the injury scare he got late in the fourth quarter of the NBA Finals Game 3 against the Boston Celtics.
Kerr is probably just being cautious of speaking without proper information. It might be too premature for him to discuss the issue without any finality, as it might put unnecessary pressure on Curry and the Warriors.
Father death:
In 1984, Kerr was an 18-year-old freshman at the University of Arizona when his father, Malcolm Kerr, was assassinated by the militant group Islamic Jihad — targeted because he was the president of the American University of Beirut.
Hopefully, though, the injury is not serious and Curry will not have to miss any game.
The fact that he’s able to stay and finish Game 3 is a good sign, but nothing is set in stone until the Warriors guard undergoes test to determine his true condition.
Political Views:
Following are his political views:
“I want to say first of all that I’m proud to be part of an organization and with a region and area that embraces diversity, and there’s never been a more important time in our country to respect the person next to you regardless of race, creed, color, sexual preference, sexual identity.”
Kerr is out indefinitely due to complications from back surgery he underwent two years ago, per Anthony Slater of the San Jose Mercury News.
