Mom Boyfriend:

Stephen Curry triumphed on the court over the Boston Celtics on Friday, there was plenty more drama going on in the stands. The point guard’s parents – Dell and Sonya Curry – were both there cheering him on with their new partners.

The former couple just went through a nasty divorce after 33 years of marriage. Both sides accused the other of marriage infidelity.

Sonya Curry is currently dating former NFL New England Patriots player Steven Johnson, one of Dell Curry’s old college friends. Both of Steph’s parents appeared with their respective new partners last Friday at TD Garden. It wasn’t long before Twitter identified the woman Dell was with as Nicki Smith, the ex-wife of Johnson who Sonya is currently in a relationship with.

Parents Divorced:

Yes, they are divorced.

No matter the situation, divorce almost always brings sadness to both parties, Ryerson said. One or both spouses may have to change homes, and they’ll probably grieve the positive things about the marriage.

Sonya and Dell Curry admitted as much in their statement to the media, describing the process of undoing their long marriage as “painful.”

Divorce can be hard on adult children, as well. “Parents are role models for their children,” Ryerson said. “It can also be upsetting when it comes to family get-togethers unless the parents are able to stay on friendly terms. It’s a sad time, no matter how people present it.”
