Stephanie Joanne White (in the past known as Stephanie White-McCarty; born on June 20, 1977) is a former professional American basketballer and currently the head coach of Indiana Fever’s WNBA team. Before this she had a stint as head coach for Vanderbilt Commodores’ women’s basketball program from 2016 to 2021. Marketing advanced, she has been the head coach of Indiana Fever (WNBA) for two previous seasons of 2015 and 2016. She is a celebrated sportsperson having been awarded The Wade Trophy for her contributions and talent in intercollegiate sports back in the year 1999 as the best female basketball player in America.

Connecticut sun
Stephanie White and the Connecticut Sun have separated after the second year in which she managed to take the franchise to the WNBA semifinals, the club announced on Monday.
The Sun placed third on the league standings, having recorded 28 wins and 12 losses. They proceeded to sweep Indiana in the first round of playoffs, only to lose the semifinals five game series to Minnesota.
“So we want to thank Stephanie from Connecticut and the efforts that she has made for us over the last two seasons. We wish you well,” said Sun president Jen Rizzotti.
The sun becomes the seventh WNBA team to part ways with their head coach only a day after the Indiana Fever announced they have sacked Christie Sides from head coach positions.
White had mentioned a fortnight ago in a zoom with reporters that she had a family crisis and was not contemplating her career as a coach.
In the first season, White guided the team to a franchise best of 27-13 also winning the 2023 WNBA coach of the year and the associated press coach of the year.

While making preparations for a spectacular upcoming season, which was 1998 – 1999 for her at Purdue, Stephanie White got married to her high school sweetheart, Brent McCarty, in May 1998.
Even with McCarty as her last name, the ‘White fever’ didn’t die at Purdue because she was still the lady who led the team in scoring and 3-pointers while being second in rebounds and assists.
Purdue went on to be crowned the champions of the US NCAA league in the year 1999, with White emerging as the National College Player of the Year.

There hasn’t been any formal announcement made but as per the Instagram account of Sun’s head coach, there seems to be dating relationship with Salters. Recently, it was revealed that White came across as flaunting their pictures in various posts. Also, there is a post with both of them together, “#DateNightIsBack.” Likewise, the sports commentator aged 58 years also appears to post a picture of White in which she admires her work. They have also been seen actively participating in charity events, on the streets of Napa Valley, during live games and even at their children’s school events. It looks like they live together with five boys.
At this moment, however, it is still not clear whether the couple is married and if so, to whom. What does seem to be quite clear, however, is that they are together and White has parted ways with Michelle Fletcher. Also, this is not even a recent change for she has been publicly endorsing her current relationship for more than two years now.
