Steve Kerr doesn’t have an exaggeration to describe the genius of Stephen Curry.
After seeing the two-time MVP finish with 45 points in a 115–113 win over the LA Clippers on Thursday night, Kerr was left to discuss an incredible Curry performance once again—a performance that took two games— Defined 3-pointers were included in the final two minutes to help ensure victory.
“Steph Curry was just Steph Curry,” Kerr said. “There’s never been anyone like him. Those last two 3 were ridiculous.”
Curry’s wrath, which came a day after Golden State’s season-opening win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night when he went just 5-for-21 off the field, didn’t surprise any of his teammates. , but those last two 3- Chess Center left many people in awe. The first triple, from a distance of 31 feet, came with a rule of 1 minute, 54 seconds and gave the Warriors a 108-107 lead. The second, from 27 feet away, came in with 57.7 seconds remaining and gave the Warriors a 111-109 lead, which they would not want to give up.
This performance knew those close to him were coming after such a bad shooting night against the Lakers.
“He didn’t miss a single shot in the shootaround today,” said Warriors forward Drummond Green. “So we knew it was coming. But he could have missed every shot in the shootaround and I would still have known it was coming. He is an incredible player.”

What made this particular performance even more impressive was that Curry began the 10-for-10 game off the field, including a 9-for-9 25-point first quarter. Curry finished 16-for-25 off the field, including an 8-for-13 beyond the arc, caught 10 rebounds, struck the ball out for an assist and swung it six times in 38 minutes.
The confidence he has in his game and his shots never falters. Curry said that he always believed that the next game is going on, no matter how poorly he played before.
“It earns you confidence from the work you do,” Curry said. “It’s always a message that the next shot is going or the next game is going to be a good game because I try not to focus too much on it. Even laughing at that question – me Don’t even know what Staples does to me when I’m shooting basketball. Who cares, move on to the next. You play enough games, you figure out the ability to turn the page really quickly Huh.”
While many warriors have become accustomed to Curry’s talent, Kerr said some members of his new coaching staff, including assistant coach Jama Mahallela, couldn’t believe what they were seeing on Thursday night.
“Jama came up to me after the game, he said, ‘This may not be new to you guys, but [Dejan Milojevic] and I were just talking’ – this is his first time with the Steph Curry experience,” Kerr said. “They were just blown away. And even though we’re all blown away by it, I’m still blown away. There’s never been someone like him. Not only the shooting range but the competition, the guts, just an amazing, amazing player. What about him? It was a game.”
Paul george
Paul George, a mic-up for the Los Angeles Clippers, challenged Steph Curry to “make it interesting” with a long-range shooting contest during his game in San Francisco on Thursday.
“I’m from the people with this,” George can be heard saying to the Golden State Warriors superstar. (See video below.)
“I haven’t missed one yet,” Curry replied.
It seems silly to include Curry in any sort of shooting competition – especially when he’s on fire. The two-time MVP scored his first 10 shots in Thursday’s game and was on his way to 45 points when George dared.
Best of all, Curry replied emphatic.
Late in the game, Curry dunked a 3-point rainbow from the logo to advance the Warriors.
He added another long-range shot with almost a minute left, and scored his last 3 points via free throw to seal the Warriors’ 115-113 win.
They made it interesting, okay.

3 point record
Steph Curry sits 139 3-pointers behind Ray Allen for the NBA record for field goals beyond the arc. Before Thursday night’s performance with the LA Clippers at Chase Center, Curry sat down with the man he passed to bring in the all-time No. 2 in 3-pointers, Reggie Miller.
“While going back in time and thinking about those ambitious goals has always been surreal, my love for shooting basketball has always been a part of me as a basketball player,” Curry told Miller on TNT. “It’s something I’ve worked on, so joining that club is mind-boggling.
“When that happens, I’ll definitely have some feelings.”
