During his ESPYs monologue on Wednesday night, Steph Curry stared at Grant Williams of the Boston Celtics in the crowd and couldn’t help but send a playful jab to delight the crowd.

On Wednesday morning, Williams said “confidently” that the Celtics were the better squad, while the Warriors were more “disciplined,” hence why they ultimately won the 2022 NBA Finals a month earlier. It looks like Curry heard what Williams said and sent an instant message of his own, as he was getting ready to host ESPY.

Regardless, it’s all good fun, despite Curry’s hilarious warning to attendees that ESPY has no ill feelings toward any of the other athletes.

With “Patti King” Curry as host, there will certainly be many more memorable moments when it’s all said and done.

Despite losing coveted Best Athlete honors, Curry won best record-breaking performance and best NBA player at the 2022 ESPY Awards, ESPN’s annual celebration for all things sports, held Wednesday night at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, California. Steph hasn’t spoken much about her parents’ divorce, although she has made it clear that she plans to continue sharing moments with them.

However, now she has to share different moments with him, which is a big change.

“I had to make sure that I was different with the two of them in that moment and it wasn’t just this sort of thing,” Curry said after breaking the 3-point record in an interview with The Ringer. “That’s how I choose to reach out to him. Because it’s challenging.”
