Lineups
The Houston Rockets kicked off a four-game homestand Tuesday with a trip out of state rival San Antonio, and if you’re wondering how you can watch all the action live, you’ve come to the right place.
Houston enters with momentum on the back of a strong road trip, during which it went 3-2—courtesy of a Steph Curry buzzer-beater with a loss to Golden State. Now, the challenge lies in finding the form at Toyota Center the Rockets haven’t won since December 8.
The Rockets defeated the Spurs in San Antonio earlier this month, but that night the home team was short-handed in the league’s health and safety protocols with players, including guard Derrick White. This time around, Spurs have a clean injury report, and are hoping to come out of a recent skid in which they have lost 12 of 15 games.
The main matchup could be Houston’s Kevin Porter Jr. vs San Antonio’s DeJonte Murray. The two are young, highly competitive guards from the Seattle area who happen to be close friends. Murray had better full-game stats on January 12, but Porter hit several Dagger 3-pointers late in the fourth quarter as the Rockets walked away to win.
Injury reports

Wednesday, they have three consecutive games against opponents (Spurs, Kings and Kings) who are at least 10 games below .500.
Could this help get Houston’s notoriously leaky defense back on track? It begins with a trip to in-state and division rival San Antonio, where DeJonte Murray and Spurs have lost seven of their last eight and the league’s health and safety protocols have sidelined several rotation players.
Murray and Rockets guard Kevin Porter Jr. are clearly friends since growing up in the Seattle area, and a fight between those young guards could go a long way toward determining Wednesday’s outcome.
Houston should benefit from the return of veteran guard Eric Gordon, who was scratched late on Monday due to persistent thoughts.

The last time the Houston Rockets met the San Antonio Spurs, they lit up the scoreboard by scoring 37 points in the fourth quarter and 16 with threes.
It was a humiliating defeat for San Antonio, who were without Derrick White and Doug McDermott, but still should have produced a better defensive performance than in that home game. While DeJonte Murray did everything he could to help Spurs fight back late with his triple-double, Spurs fell 128–124.

Houston has only gotten over .500 with one spin of the win, but the team still has to believe they can go further, if not more, than last season when they defeated the eventual champion Golden State Warriors. I had lost. Western Conference Finals.
