Fantasy
Michelle was released by the Dolphins on Tuesday. Mitchell featured in 17 games with the Rams last season, scoring 845 yards and 208 rushing attempts with four touchdowns. The Chargers were reportedly unsure which of their roster would back up current back Austin Eckeler. If Michael signs with the Chargers, he would certainly be the prime candidate to fill that role and would be an excellent handcuff.
Trade
Sonny Mitchell, a former Patriots first-rounder who signed with the Dolphins as a free agent in May, was cut Monday, the team announced.
Despite winning the second Super Bowl of his career and running for 845 yards with the Rams last season, Mitchell never actually got to Miami. His precision rushing line of 13 yards on nine carries (a touchdown) certainly didn’t help his cause, but Mitchell was also limited in practice regularly for health reasons and was uneven in his performance when he was there.
The Dolphins owe Mitchell a one-year guaranteed share ($850,000), a $2.1 million deal he signed with the team. Mitchell has rushed for 3,137 yards and 18 TDs in his four NFL seasons and was instrumental in New England’s race to victory in Super Bowl LIII, but injuries derailed his career somewhat.
Wiki
Michelle’s parents moved from Haiti a year after the birth of her older sister, Lamis.[2] Michelle attended American Heritage School in Plantation, Florida. [3] Mitchell was making a comeback debut for the American Heritage Patriots, starting there in eighth grade. [4] As a senior, he ran for 1,833 yards and 24 touchdowns. Playing at the university for more than three years, he ran for 4,758 yards and 63 touchdowns. He was rated as a five-star recruit by Rivals.com and ranked as the 3rd best running back and 13th best player overall. [5] Mitchell committed to the University of Georgia to play college football on April 26, 2013.
Injury
Sonny Mitchell is the only player to feature in Sunday’s game against Detroit, who was ruled out of practice on Wednesday with a shoulder injury. Sean McVay isn’t too worried, though, saying that shouldn’t stop him from playing this weekend.
Wife
Sonny Mitchell is not married, but he has a longtime girlfriend known as Anees Davis, with whom he has one child.
Although Sonny is rumored to be dating Lou, he is still happy with Anees Davis.
Number
According to a tweet sent out by the squad’s social media team on Wednesday afternoon, Sonny Mitchell, running back Miami Dolphins, will wear 34. (This tweet will certainly cause less stir than the Tua To Tyrek tweet sent out Tuesday night…)
