Husband job
Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens have been dating since March 2020, just before the pandemic. Like Biles, Owens is a professional athlete, playing safety for the Chicago Bears in the NFL. They married in a small ceremony in April 2023, before exchanging vows again in Cabo in May.
New move
Simone Biles already has five gymnastics elements to her name. Now, she is going for another one.
The American superstar presented an original skill on the uneven bars to the International Gymnastics Federation on Friday. This makes her one of four female gymnasts who can try new elements during the Paris Olympics.
The new skill in Biles’ so-called “weakest” event is a clean hip circle forward with a 1.5 turn — or 540-degree pirouette — on one arm. The IGF said it is a variation of the element named after Canadian gymnast Wilhelm Weiler, which Biles has performed several times before during her career.
The federation said that if Biles attempted this during competition, it would likely be the beginning of her uneven bars routine, which is when she typically performs the vealer.
Moves named after her
She earned her first nominated move on floor exercise in 2013 and three of her elements – Biles on beam, Biles II on floor, Biles II on floor and now Biles II on vault – ranked as the most difficult skills on their respective apparatus.
