He is a five-time Olympian and a three-time Olympic gold medalist in half-pipe snowboarding. He holds the world record for most X-Games gold medals and most Olympic gold medals by a snowboarder. He has also won 10 ESPY Awards throughout his career in various categories

Did qualify
Team USA snowboarder Shaun White qualified for the finals with a score of 86.25 in the men’s snowboarding halfpipe.
White crashed in his first run, adding to the pressure for his second and final chance. White fell on the first attempt of his signature trick, the double McTwist 1260, but took advantage of it on the second run.
White finished fourth, while Ayumu Hirano of Japan topped the leaderboard with a score of 93.25.
White is looking to win his fourth gold medal in this event.
“Olympics, I mean, it doesn’t get any bigger, White said.
“For the final, we’re not holding back. Whatever we have. For me especially, I’m going to throw my everything in it and see what happens.”
The men’s halfpipe final will take place on Wednesday at 8:30 pm. ET.
Qualifying
Shaun White might not be in favor of winning gold for the first time in his career, going into his fifth and final Olympics. But you would be foolish to count him.
Two days after Shaun White arrived in Beijing, he posted a photo of the Olympic halfpipe on his Instagram account. In the shot, White stands in front of the pipe, eyes narrowed in the direction of the camera. A black-necked gaiter shields the rest of his face. He is wearing his Team USA uniform and has a black and white snowboard named after him.
How did do today
On the surface, it’s a giant picture of a man in snowboard gear standing in front of a large pile of snow. But with context, it’s an image of the final look, a shot of the game’s biggest competitor posing with his equipment in what will soon be his final leg. Because in the months prior to, his fifth Winter Olympics, White brushed aside the action sports superstition and called the “last run”, revealing that it would be his last attempt to add to his Olympic medal race.
“I had my eye on competing in Italy [in 2026],” White said in January, three days before officially qualifying for the Beijing Games. “I was very excited about the idea of ending my Olympic career where I started it [in 2006]. But through the process, I realized I didn’t feel like I could be mentally or physically in four years.” I can do more. This is going to be my last trip.”
