Sean Patrick Livingston (born September 11, 1985) is an American professional basketball executive and former player. Livingston entered the league straight out of high school and was selected by the Los Angeles Clippers in the 2004 NBA Draft in fourth place. In a professional career spanning 15 years in the league, Livingston played 959 games for nine teams and won three NBA championships as the Golden State Warriors in 2015, 2017 and 2018.

League sources say Shawn Livingston has extended his contract guarantee until July 10. Livingston had $2 million guaranteed on his June 30 deal of $7.7 million.

The move now gives the Warriors more time to decide on Livingston’s contract.

Livingston was born in Peoria, Illinois. He led Concordia Lutheran Grade School to LSA state titles in 1999 and 2000. Livingston played competitive basketball at Richwoods High School for two years[1] and then transferred to Peoria Central High School, where he led his team back-to-back. -Back Class AA State Title.

Retirement

Livingston spent the first 10 seasons of his career with eight different teams, winning three championships, and the last five seasons with the Golden State Warriors. Before arriving at Golden State, the turning point in the 34-year-old’s career was a severe knee injury in February 2007.

The 21-year-old Livingston’s career nearly came to an end, playing with the Los Angeles Clippers with a fourth overall pick in the 2004 draft.

“He missed 101 of 246 games to be injured in his first three seasons. After three years of growing pains, the Clippers were hoping for a successful season for Livingston until the nightmare of his life on February 26, 2007 did not come.

Retired

With the Clippers on February 26, 2007, Livingston’s left leg was bent when he fell on the court in a freak accident. The doctors thought it might have to be cut.

Livingston tore the three major ligaments in his knee – anterior cruciate, posterior cruciate and medial collaterals – as well as his lateral meniscus, then went to Birmingham, Alabama, under the supervision of renowned orthopedist Dr. Extensive surgery performed by James Andrews was required.

Livingston, who also removed his knee cap and tibiofemoral joint, overcame lengthy medical hurdles to get back on the court.
