Sergio Michele Pérez Mendoza, better known as Sergio Pérez or Checo Pérez, was born on Friday, January 26, 1990 (age 31 years; as in 2021), in Guadalajara, Mexico. His zodiac sign is Aquarius. His family and friends have given him the nickname Checo. Sergio Perez was born into a family with a racing background. His father, Antonio Pérez Garribe, was a former racing driver who had given up racing and moved into the field of managing other racers. Sergio Pérez was born ahead of scheduled delivery as the date was bumping from the 1990s, 24 hours after the Daytona race. Antonio convinced the doctors to push the delivery date and Sergio was born via caesarean section.

Father

Perez Garribe said he was very proud to see his son take to the podium in Mexico, and even more thrilled that his grandson, Sergio’s son, was able to witness such a momentous occasion in person.

“I feel very proud, you need to be a father, but you have to look at the podium and see Checo’s son, Chekito, who was extremely proud of his father,” he said.

“Today, we were talking and Chekito told his father that Lewis Hamilton raised his thumb and was very excited, Chekito was very excited.

“I understand that a lot of people will see things a bit negative but I am happy for all my people, as my country progresses at the same time.”

With Perez securing a third consecutive podium after placing third in Turkey and the United States, his father believes 2022 will only see a more competitive ‘Checo’.

“Perez’s best is yet to come,” he said.

“Checo is still not one hundred percent in this car. One important thing to remember: Max is five years ahead of him and Hamilton has a five-year advantage sitting in his car.

Salary

Sergio Perez made his Formula One debut with the Sauber team in 2011. The Mexican signing was the result of Sauber’s announcement of a partnership with the telecommunications company Telmex.

He stayed with the Swiss outfit for two years and jumped ship for McLaren in 2013, but suffered a very poor run that year.

A year later, he moved to Force India and remained there till this season. He partnered with Nico Hulkenberg for three years, until the latter left for Renault. He then partnered with Esteban Ocon for two years before ousting Ocon in favor of Lance Stroll for 2019. Barely 2 seasons later, it was Perez’s turn to leave the team, but, only this time, did the Mexican have an offer from one of the top. -Field team, Red Bull.

Perez is currently driving for the championship contender for the 2021 season, Red Bull Racing. What’s more, the Milton Keynes organization further extended Perez’s contract until the end of 2022.

on-track achievements
Sergio Pérez made just one podium in the second race of 2012 in his second season in Formula One. During his tenure with the Woking-based organization, he could only manage fifth place. When he moved to Force India, he scored five podiums for the Indian organization.

His highest place was seventh in the Drivers’ Championship in 2016 and 2017. In his partnership with Hulkenberg, both were successful in helping the team finish fourth in the 2016 championship. Perez and Ocon repeated the feat again in 2017.

Perez qualified and finished 1st in the drivers’ standings, surpassing his young teammate Stroll, scoring a respectable 52 points in a car that was not very competitive.

However, Perez faced a stronger challenge from the Canadian in 2020. With the RP20 heavily influenced by the championship-winning car of 2019, Racing Point continued to advance from midfield with Perez and Stroll scoring points.
