Lewis Hamilton and Serena Williams have joined the bid to takeover Chelsea Football Club that was being spearheaded by former British Airways chairman Sir Martin Broughton.
The Broughton bid is one of three finalists being considered by Raine Group, a US merchant bank overseeing the auction on the behalf of Roman Abramovich, and the West London club’s board.

“We can confirm Lewis has joined Sir Martin Broughton’s bid,” a spokesperson for Hamilton said.
It is understood that the Mercedes driver, who is an Arsenal fan, hopes that, among other things, he could have a positive impact on diversity and inclusion at Chelsea and in the club’s local community.
