Serena retired after 92 matches at the Australian Open, 69 at the French Open, 98 at the prestigious Wimbledon and 108 wins at her home Grand Slam US Open. She has won a record total of 23 Grand Slam titles.

Tennis legend Serena Williams has been ruled out of the US Open 2022, which could be her last match on a court. She went down to Ajla Tomljanovic 7-5, 6-7, 6-1 in the third round of women’s singles on Friday. The tennis star had announced that this would be her last singles match at the US Open and that she was retiring from the sport. After losing her swansong match, she burst into tears, waving to the home crowd.

Press conference

Annette Kontaveit broke down in tears after losing to Serena Williams in the second round of the US Open and abruptly left the press conference.

Williams turned the clock back on Wednesday night to enter the third round of the hard-court Grand Slam by defeating the world No. 2 in New York.

Putting his retirement plans on hold, the 40-year-old American won 7-6 (7-4) 2-6 6-2 in a two-hour and 27-minute contest.

Williams received overwhelming support from more than 20,000 fans packed into Arthur Ashe Stadium on Wednesday night, with spectators desperate to see the American legend in his farewell tournament.

However, many TV viewers once again thought that the crowd had crossed the line between cheering their favorite house and showing poor sportsmanship.

Fans cheered every time Kontaveit made an unforced error, while the Estonian struck a winner in silence around the stadium.

Kontaveit referred to the crying crowd at the post-match press conference.

It all started flawlessly when Drake started attending Serena’s tennis matches in 2011.
Drake became a fan of Serena Williams in 2011 and began watching her matches from the stands. He was seen encouraging them from the sidelines in many of his games.

Then he posted this…
Back in 2011, Drake told everyone he had a thing for the American tennis champion when he posted this very suggestive message on Twitter. The tweet also indicated that the pair was spending time together outside the court.

It was clear the pair had struck a chord when Drake dropped Serena on their “Nothing Was the Same” track “Worst Behavior.” Adding to his previous suggestion that the two spend time together, he rapped: “I’m in the crib with my whole set / Tennis matches / I swear I can beat Serena when she plays with her left “

Serena Williams’ ex-boyfriend Common did, and she fired a diss track at Drake.
Serena Williams’ former partner Common sent subliminal shots at Drake on his 2011 song ‘Sweet’, saying the Canadian rapper was “soft”. Some standout lines from the track include: “Singing Man Around Me, La La La / You Ain’t Motherf***ing Frank Sinatra.”
