Desai most recently served as the associate head coach and defensive assistant of the Seattle Seahawks during the 2022 season. He met with the Eagles on Monday in Philadelphia for a second interview. Desai, along with a handful of Eagles assistant coaches, went to Indianapolis on Tuesday morning for the NFL Scouting Combine.

Last season’s average salary for a defensive coordinator in the SEC was a little under $900,000 as they were paid a little over $600,000 on average.
Defensive scheme
For two seasons, the Eagles had Jonathan Gannon as their defensive coordinator, whose primary focus was not allowing big plays in the secondary, as well as trying to get the most out of his pass rush. The philosophy worked for most of the season, with the Eagles finishing with the second best defense in the league last season, allowing 301.5 total yards per game and the best pass defense (179.8 yards per game).
