The New York Giants take center stage on the 36-yard touchdown run, leaving behind Saquon Barkley’s choppiness.

It’s that time of year again where NFL athletes post photos and videos of their off-season workouts for all to enjoy. The latest came through a run back to Saxon Barkley by the New York Giants.

Barkley has endured three less than stellar seasons, each of them stricken or interrupted by injury. In 2019, he suffered a few ankle injuries but still managed to cover 1,000 yards. However, 2020 brought different fates as Barkley sustained a torn ACL at the start of the season and was forced to miss the rest of the year.

Coming back in 2021, Barkley didn’t look like himself at all. There was still some ACL hangover when the former aggressive rookie of the year again suffered an ankle injury. He also spent some time on the Reserve/Covid-19 list.

The New York Giants, running back Saxon Barkley, currently lead the NFL with 236 rushing yards, mostly due to a 164-yard performance in Week 1 against the Tennessee Titans. But could he find similar success in a Week 3 performance on Monday night against the Dallas Cowboys?

Fantasy Football Analysis: Legendary RB Saxon Barkley
Barkley found the yards too hard to come by in Week 2 against the Carolina Panthers. While he only ran for 72 yards, Barkley had 21 carries and showed he was back to the point where he could get the bulk of the carry. It would be nice to see Barkley get some opportunities in the space as a wide receiver, but the Giants will have to improve their downfield passing game to make up for it.

Start or sit in week 3?
He must start production at Barclay’s within two weeks. The Giants’ offense is dependent on his success and he is getting a lot of touch. It’s been a feast of famine for Barkley against the Dallas defense – in six games against the Cowboys he has two 100-yard attempts and three games with less than 30 yards to spare.
