Fight

Tension between the Edmonton Oilers and the Minnesota Wild reached a boiling point on Tuesday night when Ryan Hartmann and his teammates left Evander Kane after Kirill Kaprizov.

In the middle of the third period, Kaprizov and Kailar Yamamoto engaged with each other away from the drama, causing Kane to come to his partner’s aid. As the Oilers cross-checked Kaprizov, several members of the Wild went after Kane, resulting in a scandal.

Hartmann attempted to pull Kane out of the crowd and engage in a fight, but the linesman did not allow both players to drop the gloves. As they parted, Hartmann gave Kane the middle finger and the linesman pulled both players out of the ice.

“It goes to show, we had five guys there. They didn’t even have a single man to help them,” Hartman told reporters about the incident. “I don’t think any of her boys defend her. going to do.”

Hartman also said that it “would be worth it” if the NHL decided to fine him for his gesture towards Kane.

When asked about the scandal, Kane said that he wished he had a chance to respond to the wild players who challenged him.

“It took all five people and they couldn’t bring me down,” Kane explained. “I definitely would have liked to loosen up, put it that way.”

When asked if Hartmann wanted to fight him and then give him the middle finger, Kane smiled and said that Hartmann became a more willing fighter after the lineman joined.

“Yeah, these little boys, they desperately want to act. They wait for the linemen to come.”

Kane and Hartman were given sports misconduct penalties on the play.
