Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson is finding that the grass isn’t always greener, on the other hand. Ever since he switched Seattle for Denver, the 33-year-old hasn’t been in the best of form both on and off the field.

From cringeworthy commercials to playing a really bad quarterback, fans have quickly turned on the Super Bowl winner. The term “Let Russ Cook” came from his time in Seattle playing Sensational football and it came from fans asking the quarterback to play proper football because the Scotch head coach Pete Carroll preferred the run-first offense.

Now, the “Let Juice Cook” slogan has become a meme after his disastrous start to life at Mile High and fans were quick to pile on the quarterback after his pitiful performance against the Colts.

Sucks

Yes, Russell Wilson is struggling. Spotting This is the easy part. The hard part is understanding what’s wrong, and finding out if it can be fixed.

It has become clear over the years that Wilson lacks the dynamism he once routinely deployed. Either he no longer has it, or he has become reluctant to use it.

We’ve seen glimpses of it, mainly during a game-winning drive against the 49ers to cap Week Three. But he doesn’t use it nearly enough. He doesn’t pull the ball down and run like he once did, and he doesn’t use his skills to extend plays and buy time.

It doesn’t seem like he’s passing through his stride, at least not in critical moments. Instead, he is locking on a receiver and throwing the ball to that player – covered or not.

The previous night, it happened late in the fourth quarter, when it was intended for receiver Jerry Judy to play third and four with a 2:19 (as coach Nathaniel Hackett explained it after the game). Wilson instead threw in the end zone, allowing Colts cornerback Stephen Gilmore to make an easy interception.
