New house
The home is located on the corner of a half-acre on one of Brentwood Park’s major streets, where $20 million property transfers have become common. Bjorn Farrugia at Hilton Highland holds a joint listing at Berkshire Hathaway HSCP with Donnell Beverly Jr.
There’s no word yet on where Westbrook, 33, and his longtime wife Nina Earl are going, but given that both are Southern California natives and Westbrook has reportedly spent the past year alone, there’s no word yet. 79.2 million, we don’t expect him to leave LA. downsize.
Jazz trade
LA may be able to lessen the burden from New York while helping Utah weed out some unnecessary pay.
Issues with two-team business
The Knicks are required to send in at least $24.2 million in salary to absorb Mitchell’s $30.4 million for 2022-23. But if Barrett is a keeper in New York, the team doesn’t have many ways to reach that figure.
The most recently signed players (Jalen Brunson, Michelle Robinson, Isaiah Hartenstein and Jericho Sims) are out of the equation until at least December. The team’s five available prospects (Cam Radish, Obie Toppin, Emmanuel Quickley, Quentin Grimes and Miles McBride) aren’t enough for Mythsell at a combined $17.5 million.
That means at least one of Julius Randall, Evan Fournier or Derrick Rose. Neither of the three holds a clear value for the reconstruction of jazz. Randall is still owed more than $106 million when he takes his player option in 2025-26. Fournier is owed $18.9 million for 2023–24 (with a team option for $19 million in 2024–25). Only Rose can appeal in Utah for what could be considered an expiring contract ($15.6 million team option before final season).
Rose would not be a key player for the Jazz, but would have an essential contract like Patrick Beverly as part of a Rudy Gobert trade from the Minnesota Timberwolves (later redirected to the Lakers). However, since the Knicks probably prefer to keep Rose, who has been a favorite of coach Tom Thibodeau dating back to his time with the Chicago Bulls, Fournier is probably the answer.
