Russell Westbrook III[1] (born November 12, 1988) is an American professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). A member of the NBA’s 75th Anniversary Team, he is a nine-time NBA All-Star and earned the NBA Most Valuable Player Award for the 2016–17 season. He is also a member of the All-NBA team nine times, led the league in scoring in 2014–15 and 2016-17, and won back-to-back NBA All-Star Game Most Valuable Player awards in 2015 and 2016. Cold as ice
Los Angeles Lakers guard Russell Westbrook is not a good shooter. We know this from years of evidence. We also know that Westbrook has been one of the most entertaining and productive players in the NBA in his 14-year career, breaking every record that existed for triple-doubles in the process.
But even so, he’s prone to some cold shooting parts. He is currently stuck in an 8-for-40 shooting slump in his last three games, two of which resulted in losses to the Lakers. On Wednesday night, Westbrook lost to the Sacramento Kings 0-for-5 from 3-point range in a 2-for-14 off the field and a 125-116 road loss to the Lakers. He shot so poorly that the Kings’ game ops team at Golden 1 Center decided to play an audio clip of the 1977 foreign classic, “Cold as Ice”, every time Westbrook missed it.

He was selected with the fourth overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft by the Seattle SuperSonics, who moved to Oklahoma City that same week. Westbrook has represented the United States national team twice, winning gold medals at the 2010 FIBA World Championship and the 2012 Olympics. In 2019, he was traded to the Houston Rockets, playing one season for the organization before being traded again to the Washington Wizards in 2020. After one season in Washington, he was traded to the Lakers.
