Rory McIlroy announces birth of daughter Poppy Kennedy, set to play in the Tour Championship | Golf News and Tour Information | GolfDigest.com.

He said, “I have a cousin of mine; her daughter is named Poppy. We know a few other Poppies. And we just really love the name. We were sort of trying to go through a lot of the flower names, Rose, Iris, all those things.”

Witb:

Rory Mcilroy chped and changed between the TaylorMade SIM2 Max and SIM2 drivers in 2021 but in 2022 he has the newer Stealth Plus driver in the bag. A model also used by Tiger Woods and Collin Morikawa, the Stealth Plus produced brilliant results during our testing.

It produced impressive ball speeds and plenty of distance, whilst also looking outstanding. The compact profile will suit the better player which explains why so many Tour professionals have put it in the bag.

Which majors has won:

All told, McIlroy has participated in 56 majors during his career. He has logged 24 top-10 finishes in those events: seven at the Masters, six at the U.S. Open, six at the PGA Championship and five at the British Open.

McIlroy’s best tournaments overall are the PGA Championship and the Masters.

He is a four-time major champion, winning the 2011 U.S. Open, 2012 PGA Championship, 2014 Open Championship, and 2014 PGA Championship.

Dad bet:

Rory McIlroy won the 2014 British Open by two strokes Sunday, and now his father, Gerry, and three of Gerry’s friends can collect $342,000 from a bet they made in 2004.

They bet £400 ($683) with 500-1 odds on 15-year-old Rory winning the British Open before the age of 26, and the 25-year-old delivered at the last time of asking.
