WWE has suspended wrestler Ronda Rousey indefinitely after she attacked an official at WWE SummerSlam.

Rousey grabbed the referee by the hand and flipped it over his shoulder and onto the floor of the ring, where he pinned him down until another official came into the ring, the video of the incident shows.

Ronda Rousey Suspended From WWE Indefinitely After Attacking SummerSlam Official
Ronda Rousey will not be seen in the ring anytime soon. The 35-year-old wrestler has been suspended indefinitely by WWE after an attack on an official during SummerSlam in Nashville, Tennessee on Saturday.
“Following her attack on referee Dan Angler at SummerSlam, Ronda Rousey has been fined an undisclosed amount and will be suspended,” WWE said in a statement.
Rousey “vented her anger at Angler after the SmackDown Women’s Title match, claiming that [Engler] missed a Liv Morgan tap on the armbar while she counted the pinfall.”
Now the suspension means Rousey “will not appear on Friday Night SmackDown this week.”
After his match ended, Rousey turned the referee over his shoulder and slammed him like a rag doll on the floor. He knocked her down until an outright WWE official came into the ring and asked Rousey to put an end to the madness. Announcers feared it could be bad for Rousey, saying she could face “a fine or maybe even worse”.
Rousey’s anger did not subside even after leaving Nissan Stadium. She took to Instagram two days after the incident and called out to WWE, writing in her caption, “Hey @wwe if you guys stop screwing me to put your golden girls on every big PPV Can. De Great.”

What happened to Ronda Rousey? Why was the WWE star suspended after SummerSlam?
Ronda Rousey claimed that the referee missed to tap Liv Morgan on the armbar while she counted the pinfall which left her unable to win the title back.
Former WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey has been fined and suspended by WWE for her antics during the WWE SummerSlam event. WWE announced the punishment on its official page today and Adam Peace made it official on his Twitter page. Rousey faced Liv Morgan for the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship title at WWE SummerSlam, but failed to regain the title she lost at MITB.
Why WWE fined Ronda Rousey
The suspension came after Ronda Rousey attacked the official after the SmackDown Women’s Title match at SummerSlam, claiming she missed Liv Morgan tapping the armbar while she counted the pinfall. WWE has a rule where Superstars are not allowed to lay hands on officials, although Ronda Rousey was unable to revoke her suspension. WWE issued a statement on Ronda Rousey’s suspension stating, “Following her attack on referee Dan Angler at SummerSlam, Ronda Rousey has been fined an undisclosed amount and will be suspended. Due to her suspension, Rousey will not appear on this week’s Friday Night SmackDown.
This is not the first time Ronda Rousey has been suspended from WWE. Back in 2018, Ronda Rousey’s WWE career came to a halt after she was suspended for an attack on WWE officials. Rousey was so annoyed during his feud with Alexa Bliss that he assaulted her over a Money in the Bank contract. Not only did Bliss, but Rousey also attacked several officials and Kurt Angle, who was the general manager of Raw at the time, which led to his suspension.
