Robert James Gronkowski[2] (born May 14, 1989) is an American former football player who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 11 seasons. Nicknamed “Gronk”, Gronkowski played nine seasons for the New England Patriots, then played his final two seasons for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Giri said that as his stint with WWE is over, Gronk can still make some non-wrestling appearances for the company. Giri also revealed that Gronkowski cannot appear for any other wrestling company for a certain period of time as per the terms of his contract.
Gronkowski, 31, is one of the most accomplished tight ends in NFL history, with three Super Bowl wins, five Pro Bowl nods, and four First Team All-Pro selections. He has 521 receptions for 7,861 yards and 79 touchdowns in 115 career regular-season games.
Gronk is part of a Bucs team with great hopes entering the 2020 season, even though they went 7-9 last season and haven’t reached the playoffs since 2007.
With Brady, Gronkowski, Mike Evans, and Chris Godwin leading the way in the offense, Tampa has the potential to be one of the most explosive teams in the NFL.
Gronk’s wrestling career seems to be on hold, but the fact that he relinquished the title shows that his relationship with WWE is still going strong, and there is no doubt that the door will remain open for him in the future.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Rob Gronkowski is reportedly no longer a member of the WWE roster after relinquishing the 24/7 Championship on Monday.
According to Raj Giri of WrestlingInc.com, Gronk used a release clause in his WWE contract to focus on football. After sitting out the 2019 season, Gronkowski was traded to the Books from the New England Patriots and came out of retirement to reunite with quarterback Tom Brady.
Gronkowski served as the host of WrestleMania 36 in April and was reportedly scheduled to compete in a match at SummerSlam in August, but Giri said the match was called off.

Gronkowski was the longest-reigning 24/7 Champion in WWE history since the inception of the title in May 2019. He won the belt at WrestleMania 36 in April by pinning his friend Mojo Rawley during the second night of the event. There have been multiple title holders over the past year, but R-Truth has claimed it 36 times.
