For more than half of the game, Cleveland could not muster anything on offense. Brown came alive to take the lead after a few Derek Carr turnovers but Carr had another trick up his sleeve. The Fresno State product fielded his team to set up Daniel Carlson’s final second field goal attempt. With a field goal in the final seconds of the matchup, the Raiders won 16–14 on the road against the Browns.
Derek Carr helped the Raiders get within scoring range in the final minutes of the drive. When he threw an interception in just under three minutes, quarterback connected with wide receiver Zay Jones for a combined 44 yards to bring Las Vegas inside the Cleveland 30.

These two teams were quite similar but Las Vegas was more consistent. The offense was able to leapfrog the Cleveland defense into a 10-0 lead in the first half. Before the half-ending, Brown prepared for a last-second field goal attempt. McLaughlin pulled the first one up but Las Vegas called a timeout. On his second attempt, McLaughlin was off. The game was decided by two points.
