Press conference today
The Spaniard was giving the media his post-match reaction after beating David Nalbandian 7-6, 6-1, 7-5 in his third round match at Flushing Meadows on Sunday. The defending champion looked in good form during the match.
He seemed to do well in the post-match conference as he answered questions in English. However, after feeling a slight cramp in his leg, he answered further questions.
The cramps were too much for Nadal so he called his physio to come to the press room, which is practically unheard of. Then he slipped out of his chair like a told schoolboy and slid under the table to hide in his pain.
Nadal lay on the floor for several minutes as the physio created his magic at the prestigious Flushing Meadows event. After receiving the treatment Nadal stood up and slowly walked out of the press room, only to return a few minutes later. He revealed that a convulsion in the front and back of his right leg was the cause of the collapse.
