Personal life
“I keep my commitment to tennis and my happiness. I enjoy tennis both in and out of it. I also have a girlfriend and I’m not the only one to make decisions.
You have to adapt to the circumstances. family is? I don’t know, things are not easy to predict. At this age, I thought that I would have already been a former player and I would have started a family” – said the Spaniard.
Rafael Nadal, however, has also said that he is open to the idea of having children in the near future. “If I didn’t see myself playing tennis … I probably could have had my first kids,” he told the ATP Tour.
“It’s not something that just depends on you. I love kids and I want to be part of a family. Now that we’re at that age, we’re not going to wait five years.” Nadal is not putting any pressure on himself as he looks forward to this week’s Italian Open.
“[My] hope is to always try to go on court and feel competitive,” he told reporters. “That’s the first goal. Get on the court, feel [that I’m] competitive. And then I’ll see how I feel and what kind of goals I can look for.”
Rafael Nadal reached the Internazionale BNL d’Italia quarter-finals with a 9–0 record against Diego Schwartzman. But instead of finding excuses after losing to Argentina for the first time, the Spaniard is only looking for ways to improve.

Rafael Nadal’s wife’s full name is Maria Francisca Perello Pascual, also known by her loved ones as Zisca Perello (in the media) or Marie. The 32-year-old was born in Manacor, Spain, which is also the birthplace of Rafael Nadal. According to reports, Perello has known Nadal from his younger days, having come into contact with him through his friend, his sister, Maribel Nadal. The pair began dating in 2005, when she went to the University of the Balearic Islands. She was 17 and Rafa was 19.
