Nichols was one of ESPN’s top celebrities, serving mostly as an anchor, host, and sideline reporter for the sports network’s NBA coverage. Sources said that according to the Post, Nichols was earning anywhere from $1.5 million to $2 million per year as a network employee.

Months after her last appearance on ESPN, Rachel Nichols has now officially left the network. In August, ESPN pulled Nichols from NBA programming and canceled his show The Jump, which was later replaced by NBA Today, hosted by Malika Andrews. This came after a July New York Times excerpt in which Nichols called LeBron James’ advisor Adam Mendelsohn from his hotel room on a July 2020 phone call with those comments (Maria Taylor, from ESPN’s Variety Records and ESPN’s plan).
