The NFL announced Wednesday the complete rosters for the Pro Bowl 2022, and in a season defined by parity across the standings, it should be no surprise to see such balance reflected in the all-star teams.

Alternates:

The closest to making the Pro Bowl was tight end T.J. Hockenson, who was named the first alternate at the position.

Given that he recently had thumb surgery, it seems unlikely he’ll take part in the Pro Bowl, even if he gets bumped to the roster. The current tight ends on the NFC roster are George Kittle and Kyle Pitts.

Predictions:

The second closest was second-year guard Jonah Jackson. Jackson is the second alternate for the NFC roster. The three guards who made the roster above Jackson are Dallas’ Zack Martin, Washington’s Brandon Scherff and Tampa Bay’s Ali Marpet.

On Wednesday evening, the NFL announced rosters for the 2022 NFL Pro Bowl. Unfortunately, no Detroit Lions were named to the team, but four players were named as alternates who could potentially play in the all-star game if the players in front of them do not end up participating.

Voting:

On the AFC side, Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was one of the most surprising Pro Bowl snubs this year. He’s thrown 3,640 yards this season, which marks eighth in the NFL.

However, he has thrown 14 interceptions, which ties for the most in the NFL this season, so that’s probably the main reason why he wasn’t selected on the initial roster. He is on the alternate roster.

With AFC running backs, it was surprising to see Chargers Austin Ekeler not on the list. Ekeler has scored 17 touchdowns this season, which is second behind Jonathan Taylor.
