Meaning of Physical Fitness: It is the capacity to do work effectively with joy and pleasure. After the work is over, he still has sufficient capacity to do more work without any exertion. Moreover, his recovery must be faster and quicker.

Concept 


There are various views regarding Physical Fitness. Some say that it is related to work or task. Some consider it as good-looking
physique. Many people consider it as proper functioning of Physiological Systems. According to these different views we come to conclusion that it is a term with wide meaning. It is more than the possession of strength, speed and endurance.

The person who remains energetic, cheerful and enthusiastic in doing his work is said to be physically fit.

The level of Physical Fitness vary from person to person. It depends upon the nature of work, size, shape, structure, sex and age of
an individual.

Different games require different levels of physical fitness depending upon the type of activity, even, game and sport.
Physical fitness is a combination of qualities that enable a person to perform well in vigorous physical activities. So, in other words,
we can say that physical fitness refers to maximal functional capacity of all systems of the body.

Every time when we move, we are
exercising and keeping our body tuned and in good running order. The human body is framed in such a way that it can bend, stretch, run, jump, climb and do more tedious work. The body becomes more stronger when it exerts more and the nuscles involvement matters a lot in shaping a body.

When we do any work or exercise, it helps in improving our health adn builds up our energy and stamina level

Meaning 


The first and primary objective of physical education is to develop good physique. Through physical training the efficiency of
organic systems like respiratory system, circulatory system, digestive system, endocrine system, muscular system and neuro-muscularsystem improve. These organic developments lead to the development of physical fitness components.

The physical fitness includes
strength, speed, flexibility, agility and endurance. Physical fitness and good health are considered same but it is wrong. A healthy person may be physically unfit because he may be lacking in any component of physical fitness.

Regular vigorous exercise also increases the efficiency and capacity of an individual to lead a fruitful life. Therefore vigorous physical activities should be done for the physical growth and development.


Different games require different levels of physical fitness depending upon the type of activity, event, game and sports. Physical
fitness requires efficient motor mechanism (movement of body), efficient organic mechanism (physiological functioning) and efficient mental functioning (psychological set-up).

Definition 

A fit individual possesses all these.
According to Webster Encyclopedia: “It is the ability of a person to do daily routine work without fatigue; moreover, to participate
in playful activity and still reserves enough capacity to meet any emergency.”

David R. Lamb: “Physical fitness is the capacity to meet the present and potential physical challenges of life with success.”
