Paul Kent has stepped down from his position at Triple M, with the station saying he had a “different view” of an on-air incident on Sunday’s Sinn Bin show that “went too far”.

Kent and Triple M released a statement Thursday afternoon confirming that they have agreed to separate.

Kent said the network had asked him to express regret for his role in the airstrike with commentator Anthony Maroon earlier this month, but he declined to do so.

Maroon walked out of the studio after a heated argument with his co-hosts.

“Triple M Sydney confirms that Paul Kent has left the Sunday Sinn Bin Show,” a Triple M Sydney spokesperson said in a statement.

“Events have gone too far in recent weeks in relation to the Sin Bin incident and we have asked Paul Kent to apologize. Paul has a different point of view and has, on that basis, made the decision to part ways with Triple M.

“We wish Paul the very best and thank him for his contribution to the NRL coverage of Triple M.

“We look forward to continuing to inform and entertain Triple M listeners for the remainder of this Ft season and beyond.”

Paul Kent has been fired by Triple M Football following the result of Anthony Maroon’s on-air walkout, Sydney Morning Herald columnist Danny Weidler reports.

On May 9, radio personality Anthony Maroon left Triple M’s NRL Sunday team after an on-air walkout the week before.

A week earlier, before the Round 8 clash between the Dragons and the Tigers, Maroon had become disheartened over jokes made at his expense by co-hosts, Paul Kent, James Hooper and Gordon Tallis, about the Australian Taxation Office.

Maroon eventually walked out of the studio, midway through the show, forcing Kent to anchor the rest of the show.

He produced a pre-recorded farewell that was played before Melbourne’s win over the Dragons on Sunday, saying, “After seven or eight years on the show I’ve decided it’s me.”

On 10 May, Paul Kent wrote an article for The Daily Telegraph, rebutting ‘social justice hypocrites supporting Anthony Maroon’.

Kent wrote, “What has emerged after Maroon’s walkout two Sundays ago is a convincing distortion of facts, where Maroon has somehow emerged as a sympathetic victim of bullying, suggesting that a man himself Attacked without the ability to defend, writes Paul Kent.

“Most of the allegations have come from people who have never listened to the show or who do not understand what happens every week, making their allegations baseless.

Paul Kent’s comment on Melbourne Storm mentor Craig Bellamy received a response from the mentor, who described matters as rude and off the mark.

On Sunday the second May 2022 Triple Am Sin Bin public broadcast, Paul and a fellow moderator James Hopper relentlessly mocked Anthony Maroon for not uncovering cash from negotiating opportunities.

Anthony Maroon, a famous radio character, has left Triple M’s NRL Sunday team just one day after coming back to chat about his live walkout interestingly.

The veteran radio telecaster addressed the issue in front of the organization’s inclusion of the Bulldogs in the NRL Friday night game against Canberra.

Is Journalist Paul Kent’s Wife? Moving on to his married life, author Paul Kent, by all accounts, appears to be unmarried at the moment. Despite being an unremarkable media personality, he has never indicated to see anyone with a spouse.

This could be one of the reasons why people are considering her marital status. Additionally, his silence on his own life has made people worry about his spouse.
