Rugby league legend Paul Green ended his life in his family’s garage on Thursday – leaving behind his estranged wife and two young children

Police have confirmed that the sudden death of the 49-year-old at their home on Thursday is “not suspicious”.

Paul Green died by suicide. It has been confirmed that he took his own life.

A Queensland Police spokesman said: “Police were called to a Winnham residence just after 10 a.m. this morning after a 49-year-old man was found unresponsive.”

“He was declared brought dead by the emergency staff after a while. There are no suspicious circumstances. A report will be prepared for the coroner,” she said.

Green’s friends are shocked by this sad news. He revealed that Greene was up to date with full health and health checks prior to his death. Former rugby league coach Cronulla flew to Sydney last weekend for the Sharks’ reunion.
