Via David Purdum of ESPN.com, the move “shifted millions of dollars to sportsbooks across the country.”

Purdum noted that, an hour before kickoff, the Chiefs had 91 percent of the betting and 84 percent of the money wagered at Caesars Sportsbook.

Not everyone lost money if Mahomes didn’t score. Purdum noted that the initial 9.5-point spread ballooned to eight after the so-called “Sharps” began placing big money on the Jets.

Annoying

When you’re watching league MVP and Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes bounce across the field and dominate highlight reels, NFL fans will forgive most of your perceived annoying traits. However, if you’re in his class, like fiancée Brittany Matthews and brother Jackson are, the peanut gallery has a very low tolerance for conspiracies.

This season, two people in the Chiefs quarterback’s inner circle have been the subject of controversy.

Interceptions

Mahomes threw two interceptions against the Jets in the Week 4 meeting. Both of them were born in the same way.

The first was in the early stages of the second quarter. The Jets had just scored a field goal to cut Kansas City’s lead to 17–5 when Mahomes threw a touchdown pass in the direction of Noah Gray. The ball was thrown into double coverage and easily intercepted by safety Ashtyn Davis.

Later, Mahomes did almost the same thing late in the first half. He tried to throw a touch pass downfield to Travis Kelce, but it was thrown into double coverage. This makes C.J. Mosley was easily allowed to get under it.

Net Worth

Six years later, he led the Chiefs to two Super Bowl wins in 2020 and 2023, and he reportedly has an impressive net worth of $70 million.
