Little brother
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ younger brother, Jackson Mahomes, apologized on Twitter for dancing to Sean Taylor’s number on the day the Washington football team retired his number.
“I want to sincerely apologize for accidentally being on Sean Taylor”
Wife
Evergreen love! Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Matthews’ romance gives us all the feels – with their high school-going debut.
The couple, who got engaged in September 2020, started out in Texas as two friends who went to school together. The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback became close with Matthews in 2011 when he was just a freshman at Whitehouse High School.
After giving her a rose and a Valentine’s Day card the following year, the pair’s friendship blossomed into something more. Throughout their time in high school, the athletes rooted for each other—Mahomes played both football and baseball, while Matthews was a soccer star—and dates each other to dances in the gym.
The teenage lovers went to separate colleges, but the two stayed in Texas, which helped keep their relationship alive.
Stats
During the 2019–20 playoffs, Mahomes led the Chiefs to Super Bowl LIV, his first Super Bowl appearance in 50 years, where he defeated the San Francisco 49ers. Mahomes was awarded Super Bowl Most Valuable Player for his performance, the second African-American quarterback and the youngest ever to do so. [b] [6] He is the third black quarterback to win a Super Bowl. [c] In 2020, Mahomes signed a 10-year contract extension worth $477 million, along with a potential bonus of $26 million, for a total of $503 million, making it the second largest known contract in the game’s history. . [7] [8] He made the Super Bowl again the following year, but lost 9–31 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the first double-digit loss in his NFL career. He is the son of former Major League Baseball (MLB) pitcher Pat Mahomes.
Adidas shoes
Patrick Mahomes is focused on getting his Chiefs squad ready to take on the Buffalo Bills this week, but in the midst of all the football activity, he’s taking the time to expand further on his footwear initiative with Adidas. XETRA:ADS.DE 0.44) %). After unveiling his signature training shoe, the one-time Super Bowl champion is now running with his own adidas ZX 2K Boost.
The wild pattern and loud accents are the highlights of the Pro Bowl quarterback’s latest kick. Most of the real estate here is covered in white which includes cloth upper and toe cap. Contrast comes through in the black Adidas stripes that gradually fade along the bottom as well as the neckline overlay and top of the mid floor which are made of shiny, multi-colored leather. In addition, Mahomes’ middle console unit and heel counters with psychedelic patterns symbolize a time warp, the pace at which Mahomes is developing the game. There is BOOST foam filled inside the bottom unit which provides enough comfort to the wearers.
Throw
A strange and discomfiting phenomenon has infiltrated Kansas City Chiefs games this season: Their quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, has been throwing the football to players not on his team.
He has thrown it to mythical creatures (Giants, Titans) and birds (Eagles, Ravens), frontiersmen (Bills, Cowboys) and Footballers (Washington). In all, Mahomes has accounted for 11 interceptions — as many as during the 2019 and 2020 regular seasons combined, and one away from the total he threw in 2018, his first season as a starter.
It’s also as many as, sigh, Sam Darnold has tossed this season, and more than Jared Goff, Baker Mayfield and Daniel Jones, none of whom are considered especially vigilant protectors of the ball. Ryan Tannehill, who has been intercepted 13 times, leads the N.F.L. in that category.
Family Drama
If you’ve played organized sports at basically any level, you may have encountered the dreaded “sports slave” at some point during your journey; The kind of guys who try to fire a coach during their kid’s playtime, spend an entire Little League game harassing a teenage umpire to work for a free cheeseburger and Gatorade, and Challenges other sports dads to fight in the parking lot.
There is perhaps no more remarkable example of a hardcore sports dad than LaVar Ball. However, it’s important to note that insufferable family members come in all shapes and forms, and as I wrote about in Super Bowl LV following the fall of the Buccaneers’ Chiefs, there is probably no collective that is Patrick Mahomes’ biggest supporters. Better than a trio.
Over the years, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback has transformed into one of the most formidable passers-by in the NFL—and during that period, his mother Randy, brother Jackson, and fiancé Brittany Matthews have become increasingly unbearable to a point where I Don’t see how you can argue that there is anyone who comes out on top of the Mahomes clan as the most unbearable family in the world of sports.
