Controversy
On August 6, 2015, the Buffalo News reported that Kane was the subject of a sexual assault investigation by police in Hamburg, New York, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred the previous weekend. The Erie County District Attorney’s Office later declined to bring charges against him, stating that the complainant’s allegation was not sufficiently corroborated by credible evidence. It was later revealed that the complainant’s mother had created a fraud in which she had tried to make it appear as if crucial evidence had been tampered with.
Kane was charged with second-degree robbery, fourth-degree criminal mischief and theft of services. He pleaded not guilty. On August 17, Kane apologized for the upset he caused, saying he was “in the wrong place at the wrong time” and mentioned his family, the Chicago Blackhawks organization, and their fan base – but not Radecki. Kane and his cousin appeared before the grand jury on August 19. Although they were acquitted of any serious charges, both were convicted on less serious misdemeanor charges, including assault, theft and harassment. When appearing in court the next day, Kane and his cousin reiterated their not guilty pleas. On August 27, Kane and Cousins pleaded guilty to non-criminal disorderly conduct charges, and both were given conditional discharges, avoiding any penalties if they stayed out of trouble for a year, and Radecki. Also ordered to apologize.
Net Worth
Patrick Kane’s net worth in 2023 is around $28 million.
What is Patrick Kane’s net worth?
Patrick Kane is an American professional ice hockey player who has a net worth of $28 million. Patrick Kane was born in November 1988 in Buffalo, New York. He is a right winger who shoots with his left hand. Kane played junior hockey for the USA Bobcats since the age of 14 and became the MVP. He spent three years playing for the Honeybaked AAA team in the Midwest Elite Hockey League. Kane was drafted by the London Knights in the 5th round of the Ontario Hockey League draft in 2004, but decided not to play for them until the 2006–07 season. He played in the United States Under-18 National Team Development Program.
Deal
Kane, 35, also won three Stanley Cup titles with the Chicago Blackhawks. He was the playoff MVP in 2013 and won the Hart Trophy in the 2015–16 season.
But he is coming off hip resurfacing surgery during the offseason. Although recent videos show Kane going through intense workouts, Capitals star Nicklas Backstrom is taking a leave of absence to determine his future following the same surgery during the 2022 offseason.
Despite disappointing performances last season, Kane reached the 20-goal mark for the 15th time. But his 57 points were his lowest point total outside of the lockout-shortened 2012–13 season. He finished last season with the New York Rangers after being traded before the deadline and was limited to six goals in 26 games between the regular season and the Rangers’ first-round loss to the New Jersey Devils.
Return
The timing of his decision came as no surprise, as Larry Brooks of the New York Post reported on November 14 that Kane was expected to sign around Thanksgiving and was out of the New York Rangers sweepstakes.
Kane split the 2022–23 season between the Chicago Blackhawks and the Rangers, who acquired him from Chicago at the trade deadline.
The star winger hit the open market this summer in search of a lucrative deal. He had hip surgery in June and was estimated to be absent for four to six months, so he began the 2023–24 season without a signing as he worked on his recovery.
Kane said in May that he would welcome a return to the Rangers in 2023–24 and beyond, but he also appeared to acknowledge that may not happen due to other free agents the team needs to sign.
“With this team and with this opportunity, I would love to have that chance,” he told reporters. “I know they have young guys to sign and probably other priorities too – you know, I’ll be 35 next year, but it’s not like I feel old. I still feel young. “I do. I think the passion is still there. I know I can be a top player, you know, if I just focus on hockey.”
In 19 regular season games with the Rangers during the 2022–23 season, Kane scored five goals and seven assists for 12 points. He added one goal and five assists for six points in seven playoff games.
